The basics and Importance of industrial lubricants in India

The industrial lubricants have its own importance in automotive companies. To keep its machinery in good condition, what an operator can do? He can provide lubrication to its machinery on a regular time interval. Industrial lubricants companies believe that lubricants can only make the surface “smooth” and “slippery” and reduces friction.
Reducing friction is the primary work that lubricant does. But there are many other functions, an industrial lubricant can do. It can reduce the wear between the surfaces. It can also reduce the temperature, reduces corrosion of metal surfaces, and assists in keeping contaminants out of the system.

What is lubrication?

To understand the lubrication, you first need to know about lubricants. Why we use it? Friction is the force that relative between two bodies. If there is no friction, nothing could ever stop. But to make the moving objects stop, we need to minimize the friction. In every friction, heat is generated by the machine. so, if you do not choose appropriate lubricant for your machinery with perfect temperature, load, speed. Otherwise, catastrophic failure may result.
To reduce the failure in machinery, we lubricate our machinery to reduce the resistance and as a result, it will reduce the amount of heat produced. The heat produced is transferred to the oil so that it will later be removed by the lube oil cooler.
If we see, minimising the friction and reducing heat are the only a couple of tasks why lubricant is used. But when you dig deeper, you will found that friction is like two mountain ranges rubbing against each other. That will cause weaker pieces will breakdown and turn into some abrasive particles, which later creates more abrasion.

What Makes Up the Lubricants We Use?

As all oils initialized with base oils. Industrial lubricants use synthetic oil and mineral oil. Mineral oil comes from crude and its refining process defines its quality. There are many scales that define the quality of mineral oil like a grading scale. The mineral oil consists of four things- paraffin, branched paraffin, Naphthene, and aromatic.
Synthetic oil is man-made fluid. Molecular size and weight of synthetic oil will remain the same while mineral oil varies on a very large scale. This will lead to very predictable characteristics of synthetic oil. The higher the oil’s density, the slower it flows. The viscosity necessary for an application totally depends on its speed, operating temperature, and type of bearing as well as the type of component.
Having some knowledge of lubrication, there are many advantages of proper lubrication in your automobile. Higher efficiency, longer life, better reliability, and only less money spent on maintenance are goals that every oil company wants. There are many lubricant oil manufacturers in India who provide car lubricants, bike lubricants, etc.
